The Theology Library of Boston University has a collection of missionary biographies, reports, sermons and theologies that provide a rich resource for mission studies. The library participates in the Open Content Alliance and collaborates with the Internet Archive to offer extensive portions of the collection digitally. This portal contains writings primarily from the history of Protestant mission thought, including works on mission theology, theory, and strategy. In addition, the library has worked with the Center for Global Christianity & Mission (CGCM) to compile biographical sketches on numerous missionaries. Together the material yields crucial insights into the expansion of Christianity in the non-western world, the creation of indigenous churches, and historically important developments in the comparative study of religions.
