Libraries as a cultural gathering place (or even a place to sleep)

I heard a report earlier this week about a lunch time conversation with students in which one of the students said that the BU Theology Library is the first library that he has been in that didn’t have a good place to sleep. Fran Silverman’s November 11 article in the New York Times, Much Loved, Now Much Used reminded me of that comment and how important the space is to our users, in some ways more so than the content….
