Stan D is a dear friend of mine that I am extremely proud of. I was fortunate enough to meet him within an organization called Teens Leading The Way (TLTW) which seeks to empower youth across the Commonwealth, through political advocacy. Within that organization Stan was able to produce a rap song about Civic Education, which was presented within an official hearing for Massachusetts Senate Bill S.183 (now S.222). This young man is on the rise.

In the interview he describes his educational struggles and how he copes with them. Stan likes to rap about the daily struggle or “grind” of being a high school student in Boston. He has received some great publicity, including a song featured on ESPN and the Boston Globe.

When asked about where he would like to see himself in the future, Stan mentioned:
“Honestly for me I could care less about the money right now, if money was an issue, my main thing would be to make enough for my mom.” Stan also mentions that as an artist, he is focused on creating his own “lane” and also adds that most people look at him and expect “hood music”, but when they listen to him what they find is “meaningful music.”
