The Boston Celtics are a team with heart. After falling to the hands of the Heat or better put falling to the hands of Lebron James, I feel that we still had a successful season. Nobody expected us to go more than 5 games against the Heat. The media screamed “THEY’RE OLD! THEY’RE OLD!” Magic Johnson and the rest of the halftime show reporters apologized to the Celtics after game 6 and began to believe that the Celtics embraced their age, which now came with “wisdom.”
That being said, I am a little concerned about next year. Here are a couple of details and rumors for you. Paul Pierce, the captain, leader, and one of the best players in Celtics history has one more year in his contract. Yet, the greatest 3-point shooter in NBA history is going to be a free agent and you don’t want to hear the rumors that have surfaced lately. There have been reports for a while now that Ray Allen has shown interest in both the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks. WHAT? Kevin Garnett is also going to be a free agent this summer and various teams have shown interest in them, including the San Antonio Spurs. Personally I doubt that happens.
What are my predictions? I see Pierce taking that one more optional year on his contract. I do not see Paul Pierce joining another team, ever. He will retire a Celtic. He is the epitome of a Boston Celtic. As much as I hate hearing that Ray Allen will go elsewhere, I’m predicting that this will happen. I just pray to God that he doesn’t go to the Heat, or New York. As for Kevin Garnett, I do not see how the Celtics don’t resign him. He had a monster post season and we witnessed the youthful KG.
So, what do we have to look forward to? Ladies and gentlemen, you may have forgotten about a player who is of key interest to us – Jeff Green. Remember him? He was acquired from the Thunder in the Perkins transaction. He did not play one game this entire season due to medical reasons but he will be back next year. I’m predicting that he has a beast season. P.S if Green was healthy this year, we would be playing OKC tonight.

They were just wonderful in the playoffs. It was painful to watch them when they were having a bad game, but they always played as a team which made me proud.
When they were on their game they were better than anyone.
